WetFeet Wants to Publish You
WetFeet is opening up its publishing model in hopes of building a more plentiful library to serve our growing, diverse audience. Job seekers from around the world have come to know WetFeet as the provider of the highest quality, insider career advice. If you think you’re up to authoring a WetFeet Insider Guide, we’d love to hear from you.
Perhaps you’re an expert in a niche industry (
Careers in Wave and Tidal Power) or maybe you have a special career-related expertise (
Insider Guide to MBA Internships). Now is your chance to combine your expertise with the WetFeet brand. Drop us a line!
Authors receive a 20% royalty on the cover price on retail sales and a 10% royalty of net revenue when sold through third party booksellers, as well as a revenue share when guide is featured in other WetFeet distribution channels.
Submission Guidelines: Please make sure you’ve looked over our existing WetFeet library so as to prevent your submission from overlapping with what we already have available. Go to our
WetFeet Shop to see more detailed explanation of each title in our library or here to read more about WetFeet’s
mission.
Proposals should be sent as an email attachment in Microsoft Word and no longer than 10 pages in length. Please no unsolicited completed manuscripts. Pleases include the following information in your proposals:
•
Outline & Synopsis: Please outline the chapters and sections of your Insider Guide (If you’re not familiar with the Insider Guides see a few sample outlines) and a brief synopsis of what the guide will deliver.
•
Background: Please include a brief bio and explanation of why you are the right person to write this Insider Guide. Include a list of relevant, published works and/or relevant work or educational experience.
•
Business Case: Why should this guide be made? Are there similar books out on the market? How is your guide unique? Is the market for this kind of information growing? Who is the target audience? What kind of marketing prospects do you envision or would your background help advance?
•
Delivery: Realistically, how much time do you need to complete the guide?
•
Proposal Submission: Please send all proposals to
the editors.
We will review all submissions. If your proposal is up to WetFeet standards, we will contact you within 2 months. If you don’t hear from us in 2 months, please assume that your proposal has been rejected – but don’t hesitate to submit a new idea.
If we reject a proposal, we reserve the right to publish a conceptually similar book by another author.
