A top outsourcing firm in England, the Capita Group handles a variety of administrative tasks for its clients, including information technology, customer service, human resource management, and property management. Customers hire Capita to perform such services, leaving them free to concentrate their resources on their key business lines. Capita’s clients include government agencies as well as private and publicly-funded organizations such as British Airways and the BBC. The firm began in 1984 as a division of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy. The division was later bought out by management, who changed its name to the Capita Group. The firm has subsequently grown to more than 20,000 employees working in more than 200 offices.
