Career Education Corporation (CEC) provides career-oriented, postsecondary education at 79 schools in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and the United Arab Emirates, as well as via its e-learning division. The company provides courses of study in five high-growth fields: visual communication and design technologies; information technology; business studies; culinary arts; and health care. Career Education Corporation was founded in 1994. It went public in 1998 and made a second offering in 1999. CEC has expanded through acquisitions, purchasing previously established schools.
