Conde Nast Publications

Company Overview

Part of privately owned Advance Publications, Condé Nast Publications pioneered so-called “lifestyle” magazines, particularly those focusing on the fashion industry. Its deep stable of 34 magazine titles includes The New Yorker, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Glamour, Self, Traveler, Bride’s, Wired, Architectural Digest, and a host of other consumer magazines. The company includes the Fairchild publishing company, which publishes the influential daily trade paper Women’s Wear Daily. The company also owns Ideas Publishing Group, catering to a Spanish-speaking audience. Condé Nast expanded into electronic publishing in 2000 with the start of CondéNet, the umbrella website for online extensions of some the company’s publications. Some of its better-known sites include Epicurious.com (for food) and Concierge.com (for travel). And it’s adding new products: Domino, a new home decorating magazine, was introduced in 2006; a fine arts magazine for a general audience and a business magazine called Condé Nast Portfolio launch in the beginning of 2007, as well as a website for brides-to-be and all things bridal.
