Convergys is a global leader in relationship management, delivering a broad range of customer and HR solutions, backed by technology, business analytics and consulting services. Its Human Resources unit offers outsourcing of benefits and payroll operations, staffing, and training. Its Customer Management division, the largest teleservices business in the United States, provides both inbound and outbound call handling for sales, marketing, and support through nearly 90 call centers. Convergys also offers bill processing services and provisioning software to telecommunications companies through its Information Management Group.
Convergys is also a key player in a number of outsourcing sectors, including wireless billing services. Its biggest customers in 2007 included Cingular (now AT&T Mobility), Comcast, and Sprint Nextel. In 2006, however, Sprint Nextel informed Convergys it intends to switch to a competitor's billing system throughout 2008. Business is still growing however, since Convergys signed a $1 billion, 10 year deal with a unit of Johnson & Johnson for providing outsourced human resources services.
