DoubleClick operates two main lines of business. Its TechSolutions arm offers ad serving software product, email products designed to allow direct marketers and Web publishers to manage and deliver their email marketing campaigns, and a Web-based media planning, buying, and campaign management workflow solution. Its data arm collects consumer information and charges clients to access its proprietary database. It also offers an analytics tool that tracks multi-channel sales so marketers can measure their promotion and campaign results. The company was made private in 2005 by investment firms JMI Equity and Hellman & Friedman.
