The company produces infrastructure equipment for wireless and traditional communications including modems, components, and cable, as well as military electronics including radar and com systems. Ericsson’s major businesses are mobile systems, which provides mobile telecom network products and services; wireline systems, which provides land-based telecom network products and services; transmission and transport, which provides optical and microwave transmission and transport products for telecom networks; service layer, which provides content and applications to telecom clients; and services, which provides consulting, system integration, training, and technical support. Through Sony Ericsson, its 50-50 joint venture with Sony, the company also makes and sells mobile telephone devices.
