Company Overview
Incyte made a name for itself in the field of bioinformatics, a virtual
laboratory in which scientists use computers to retrieve, process, and
analyze biological information. But when bioinformatics didn't produce
the tsunami of discovery (and revenue) that scientists (and investors) were
anticipating, Incyte changed directions to focus more on drug discovery and
development, in addition to licensing its biological data to other
companies. It focuses on drugs for cancer, inflammation, HIV, and diabetes.
It’s working in partnership with Pfizer on CCR2 antagonists, which are
promising treatments for inflammatory diseases.
