Once upon a time, there was Madison Avenue, three-martini lunches, and flashy independent advertising agencies pitching their catchy slogans. Now there are a handful of worldwide advertising conglomerates, and one of the biggest is the Interpublic Group of Companies. Interpublic is the holding company overseeing a number of advertising, marketing, public relations, and communications firms. Its subsidiary companies include the ad agencies McCann-Erickson WorldGroup; Campbell-Ewald; Hill, Holliday; Deutsch, and Lowe & Partners; the PR firm Weber Shandwick; and the combined ad and direct mail agency DraftFCB.
