Lightbridge is a transaction processing company, creating technology that integrates customer acquisition, retention, and risk management solutions. Its products help carriers screen out customers who have committed cellular fraud or failed to pay their bills in the past. Through its subsidiary Authorize.net, which it acquired in 2004, Lightbridge has been focusing on payment processing offerings, including products for retail point-of-sale and e-commerce merchants. To further this effort, it sold off noncore businesses such as its Fraud Centurion product suite in 2004, and its Intelligent Network Solutions software unit in 2005.
