Founded in 1983 in Redwood City, California, Network Equipment Technologies sells wide-area-network (WAN) hardware and software that synthesize voice, data, and video traffic. In addition to marketing and selling its product line, the company also designs, installs, supports, trains, maintains, and upgrades systems for corporate end users, telecommunication providers, and government agencies. The company’s main source of revenue is its Promina product line, serving mainly government customers. Its other two main product lines are the SCREAM Service Creation Manager platform, providing capabilities for broadband migration, and the newer SHOUT platform, which allows network operators to enjoy the cost savings and functional benefits of the VoIP telephony technology.
