The number two amusement park operator in the world behind Disney.
Ninety-five percent of people in the U.S. live within an eight-hour drive of a Six Flags park.
Thanks to Six Flags, Inc., millions have experienced the thrill of nearly upchucking. The company owns 30 parks in North America, including water parks. It also owns two hotels and a 2,000-site campground in upstate New York. Six Flags traces its roots back to 1961, when Angus Wynne opened Six Flags over Texas, named for the six nations whose flags have flown over Texas during the state's history: the U.S., the Confederate States, Mexico, Spain, France, and the Republic of Texas.
