Ticketmaster is the world's leading provider of event ticketing services. It sells more than 100 million event and sports tickets each year, through 6,500 retail Ticket Center outlets, 19 telephone call centers around the world, and Ticketmaster.com. In 1998, IAC/InterActiveCorp (then known as USA Networks), which owns Ticketmaster, acquired CitySearch to form Ticketmaster Online/CitySearch. The newly combined company had its IPO that same year with IAC/InterActiveCorp remaining a majority stakeholder. In 2003, IAC/InterActiveCorp bought up the shares of the company that it didn't already own. The CitiSearch and Match.com operations were then spun off from Ticketmaster operations.
