I find that jobs are filled without being posted. How do I find out about those non-posted jobs?
That’s where the saying, “It’s not what you know, but who you know,” is most relevant. If you know a lot of people, you hear about jobs when they arise. You can be one of the first to apply.
If the company likes you, they don’t need to post that job. So get to know people. Let people know you’re interested and available. By all means, keep applying to postings as well, but always network into your target companies regardless of which positions are posted. so you’re in front of mind when jobs arise before they hit the public, or the company may create a job just for you.
